Our Story

Inspired by medical practice in Cape Town and London, this facility was set up to provide a quality service and evidence-based medicine in a unique ambience. The premise of our existence is deeply rooted in providing an ethical, world-class healthcare service to our clients. With an underlying passion for women & children’s health at the heart of our establishment, we aim to make every patient’s visit to AMC a wholesome and comfortable experience. Pearl Baine

I am a licensed psychotherapist/counselor, with a comprehensive background and significant experience to my practice, focusing on helping individuals, couples, families and groups navigate the complex emotions and challenges associated with mental health by using evidence-based therapeutic methods to foster healing, resilience, and emotional well-being. My educational background includes degrees in counselling, psychotherapy, psychology and sociology, developmental and social psychology, as well as Industrial and organizational psychology with specialized coursework and training in grief/loss therapy, end of life care support as well as bereavement support. Over the previous years, I have accumulated extensive experience working with individuals of all ages who are coping with various types of mental issues including but not limited to anxiety and stress management, depression and mood disorders, relationship and family issues, suicide, substance use and addiction, grief and loss, trauma and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), significant life transitions and personal growth, self esteem and identity work. I have especially worked in diverse settings, including hospitals, intensive care units, palliative/hospice care facilities, funeral homes, and private practice, gaining valuable insights into the unique needs and experiences of mental health. My approach to mental wellness is rooted in compassion, empathy, and a deep understanding of the mental healing process as well as facilitating healthy coping mechanisms. I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), rational behavioral therapy. dialectical behavior therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, somatic therapy, solution focused therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness-based techniques, and existential therapy, tailoring interventions to meet the specific needs and preferences of each client.
